Rhonda S. Binda
Executive Director
Gracie Mansion Conservancy

Rhonda is a native New Yorker whose parents moved from Guyana to the land of opportunity to pursue the American Dream. Rhonda was identified as gifted from an early age and fell in love with technology from the time her elementary school wheeled in their first and only computer. She pleaded with her parents to purchase one also, and that set her forth on a lifelong path of exploration of the power of technology.

After receiving scholarships throughout her academic career, she worked in the West Wing of White House out of college at the height of technology boom. Throughout her 25+ year career she has been at the intersection of technology and government and was the only American voted as a global People’s Choice leader in Smart Cities and helped established the bipartisan US Congressional Smart Cities Caucus in 2018.

A technology attorney, US diplomat in the Obama Administration, former Deputy Borough President of Queens, NY, and co-chair of the NYC Mayor’s Technology Transition Committee, she currently serves as the Executive Director of Gracie Mansion Conservancy, the home of the NYC Mayor, also affectionately known as the People’s House. Rhonda is an adjunct professor at the City University of New York, serves as a State Committee Member of the NYS Democratic Party and lives in Queens, NY.
